Blog: We plant a tree for every item you order

We plant a tree for every item you order

As a small business we aim to use recyclable and natural resources where possible, and we continue to look at all the ways we can reduce energy and waste, including how to use every last scrap of Liberty fabric! As part of our continued efforts to make Holme & Moss as environmentally friendly as possible, we’re thrilled to have partnered with Sprout to help become a more sustainable business, by planting trees.

How does it work?

Sprout work with Eden Reforestation to plant a tree for every item you order from our website - so, if you purchase five items, we’ll plant five trees! Your amazing support so far has meant we’ve been able to plant this many trees, since June 2022:

About Eden Reforestation

Eden Reforestation work with local communities around the world to restore forests on a massive scale, with over 950 million trees produced, planted and protected in 11 countries, including Madagascar, Mozambique and Kenya. Planting nearly a million trees per day, the Eden Reforestation projects not only help in the fight against climate change, by removing carbon from the atmosphere, but they also help to revive natural habitats and support local communities.

Why do trees matter?

As we see an increase in forests destroyed by devastating wildfires and human-driven deforestation, this highlights the importance of tree planting. Our forests remove a third of all fossil fuel emissions, by absorbing and storing carbon dioxide - a greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming. Planting trees is the most efficient carbon removal technology that we have - the more trees that are planted by organisations such as Eden Reforestation, the more carbon dioxide can be taken out of the atmosphere.

Making a difference

As we continue to strive to become a more sustainable small business, we’re proud to be supercharging our climate impact with this tree planting initiative. So, when you buy your next Liberty headband, be proud that you’ll be making a positive impact to our planet, through the incredible work of Eden Reforestation.
