Five ways to support a small business
Small Business Saturday on Saturday 2nd December 2023 is a day to help shine a light on all the incredible small businesses in the UK and to encourage others to shop small and shop local.
There are so many ways you can support a small business, many without even spending a penny! Here are just a few ways you can support your favourite small businesses all year round.
-
Get social!
This won’t cost you a penny, but will make a huge difference to small businesses. Give them a follow on social media and engage regularly - like and share their posts and always leave a comment. By following them on social media you’ll get access to all the behind the scenes action, the latest news and promotions, and you’ll be helping raise awareness of their business at the same time.
-
Spread the word
Word of mouth is one of the best ways you can show your support for a small business, and help them to reach new customers. Talk about your small business finds to anyone and everyone and recommend them to your friends and family.
-
Leave a positive review
A positive review promotes trust and credibility of a small business and is particularly encouraging when making decisions. Leaving a review with a photo is even better! We personally love to see our customers showcasing our products, and it's really helpful to others when deciding on a style.
-
Sign up to newsletters
Newsletters are a great way to stay up to date with latest news, sales and giveaways. Help small businesses grow their email list by signing up and why not share the link to encourage others to do the same - as an added incentive many small businesses offer a discount when you sign up (sign up to our newsletter and get 10% off!).
-
Shop small when you can
Of course, nothing will support small businesses more than buying from them. When you shop small you'll find unique gifts, enjoy personal customer services, and avoid the big queues! There are so many more reasons to shop small this Christmas (and all year round), we've put together our top five here. Also, don't forget to support your local Christmas fairs, small business workshops, and why not take a trip to your local Curated Makers store.
